Engineering Project Feasibility Studies

BARA has been engaged in various project feasibility studies, the scope of these projects typically include to find solutions to complex problems faced within the industry.

These studies included:

  1. Evaluating solutions for technical viability

  2. Market analysis for the products and different beneficiation routes, as well as the capital expenditure estimated to achieve which product quality. This will include Return-on-Investment, Nett Present Value and CAGR analysis on the products.  This will give an indication of the market demand (present and future) for specific products that can be produced as well as give an indication of what beneficiation route will be the most profitable and produce the quickest return and best possible business case.

  3. Initial Return-on-Investment, Nett Present Value and CAGR analysis on the products in order to enable the end user to develop or conclude on a possible business case for the products and the best beneficiation routes to achieve it.  

  4. Plant and utilities requirement, skills requirement and operating expenditure evaluation.

  5. Further optimisation opportunities

Some of these feasibility studies included:

  • Evaluation to implement Pyrolysis plant on waste stream (various feedstocks)
  • Waste to energy means and technology development
  • Gold Beneficiation and Extraction from waste tailings
  • Retrofitting fuel supply on a boiler to greener alternatives
  • Beneficiation of bio-gas obtained from a pyrolysis plant
